Research on mechanical properties and microscopic mechanism of silicate-ferric aluminate-fly ash ternary composite cementitious system
[J]. Journal of Cement, 2026,0(7): 1-')" href="#">
YANG Xiaochen, et al
This study investigates the effects of ferro aluminate cement (FAC) and fly ash (FA) on the physico-mechanical properties of ordinary Portland cement (OPC) -based materials. Macroscopic performance tests and microscopic analyses (XRD, SEM) revealed that incorporating FAC into OPC significantly shortens the setting time, enhances early-age strength, with a 24.8% increase in 7-day compressive strength at 10% FAC content, and effectively improves drying shrinkage resistance. The addition of FA further optimizes shrinkage performance, however, a FA content exceeding 30% leads to a reduction in strength. Microscopic mechanisms indicate that FAC promotes the formation of ettringite and accelerates OPC hydration, while FA consumes Ca(OH)2 through a pozzolanic reaction, increasing C-S-H gel formation. These actions enhance the compactness and durability of the composite system.

Research on synergistic mineralization of fluorite tailings, yellow phosphorus sludge and phosphogypsum for preparation of early-strength low-heat silicate cement clinker
LI Wenjin, et al
Low-heat Portland cement clinker was prepared by using industrial raw materials such as limestone, red sand, clay and non-ferrous metal slag, with the conventional clinker moduli of KH = 0.80 ± 0.02, SM = 2.5 ± 0.1 and IM = 0.9 ± 0.1. Appropriate amounts of fluorite tailings, yellow phosphorus slag and phosphogypsum were also introduced. The effects of the compound mineralizer on the formation of Portland cement clinker minerals and their properties were revealed through chemical analysis, XRD, petrographic and physical performance tests. The results showed that the appropriate addition of mineralizers could improve the burnability of raw meals, reduce the f-CaO content in clinker, optimize the mineral composition of clinker, and change the size and structure of A and B minerals. These changes collectively led to an increase in the hydration reaction activity of cement, thereby enhancing the performance of cement. The 3-day compressive strength of cement increased by 20.5% to 17.6 MPa, and the 28-day compressive strength increased by 9.0% to 50.8 MPa.

Research on preparation of ultra-sulfate cement using vanadium-containing steel slag as reducing slag
ZHANG Yu, et al
This paper uses the water-quenching or air-quenching RS to replace the GBFS to prepare supersulfate cement, and the effect of RS on the performance and hydration of supersulfate cement is researched. The results showed that water-quenching or air-quenching RS could effectively replace GBFS to prepare supersulfate cement. The clinker content of the prepared supersulfate cement was only 5%, but its mechanical performance can reach the level of 32.5 MPa grade common Portland cement. The supersulfate cement had the characteristics of lower water requirement of standard consistency, longer setting time, lower early mechanical performances but rapid growth rate of later stage mechanical performances. The hydration mechanism of RS-based supersulfate cement still followed the process of dissolution-depolymerization-sulfate excitation. Early hydration of the prepared supersulfate cement was more significantly affected by the cooling method of the RS, water-quenching RS could participate in the hydration reaction faster than that of air-quenching RS. Later hydration of the prepared supersulfate cement was closely related to the gypsum content, and the sufficient gypsum ensured the continuous hydration reaction

Influence of ultrafine circulating fluidized bed fly ash on fluidity, compressive strength and hydration of cement-based materials
ZHANG Haijiao, et al
Circulating Fluidized Bed Fly Ash (CFBFA) is characterized by huge stockpiles and low utilization rate. To enhance its resource utilization efficiency, this study adopts an ultra-fining method to improve its performance as an admixture. The effects of ultrafine CFBFA on the properties of cement-based materials are analyzed through tests on fluidity, setting time, rheological properties, hydration heat, compressive strength, and chemically bound water. The experimental results indicate that when the content of ultrafine CFBFA is 20%, the fluidity of cement-based materials is improved, and the compressive strength is increased by 15.84%, demonstrating a significant effect. This is because ultrafine CFBFA exhibits multiple effects in cement-based materials. On one hand, it has pozzolanic activity, which is conducive to enhancing the degree of hydration in the later stages. On the other hand, it has a nucleation effect, and despite the reduced cement dosage, its pore-filling capability improves compactness. Therefore, ultra-fining represents an effective pathway for the application of CFBFA
