Abstract Based on the thermal decomposition test of raw meal in large thermogravimetric experimental platform and suspension furnace under the atmosphere of high carbon dioxide concentration, we studied the thermal decomposition characteristics of raw meal in different particle size range(<45 μm, 45~75 μm, 75~250 μm). The results show that under the same experimental conditions, as the particle size becomes finer, the thermal decomposition temperature of raw meal is lower, the decomposition time of raw meal is shorter. However, there is a little difference in the thermal decomposition performance of raw materials among the three particle size ranges, which illustrates that particle size has limited influence on the thermal decomposition performance of raw meal in the range of micron
