7 Calculation of burnability index K1450 of raw meal and its influence factor research and application Hot!

Burnability index K1450 of raw meal is a technical parameter which was proportional to the rate constant of C3S formation in clinker burning, and could be calculated based on chemical compositions of the raw meal doped with coal ash and free lime content in samples burnt at 1 450 ℃. Higher K1450 value means a better burnability of raw meal, and there were four factors having significant impacts on it, including coarse quartz and fluoride level in the raw meal, liquid quantity and alumina ratio in clinker design. The relative variation of heat consumption of clinker could be estimated very precisely in a plant based on K1450 values of raw meal. When K1450 was improved from 30 to 70, the heat consumption could be decreased by more than 10%. For a raw meal with good burnability (K1450>70), the clinker sintering could be realized with a quicker heating rate and less time required at the burning zone, while reducing conditions inside the kiln could also be reduced obviously, which were all contributing a lower heat consumption for clinker burning. With above conditions, the activity of the clinker could be improved remarkably by further optimization if reasonable sizes and morphologies of Alite have been obtained.

14 Effect of coal powder injection proportion on NOx in NST precalciner

NST precalciner was one of the most widely used in cement industry. The tertiary air duct of the precalciner was eccentrically cut into the cone of precalciner, two burners were staggered on the left and right sides of the tertiary duct. The tertiary air was unidirectional into the precalciner so that the two burners were in different O2 concentrations. More than 90% of the NOx in the precalciner was fuel-type NOx, O2 concentration was the main factor affecting the formation and distribution of fuel-type NOx. According to the structural characteristics of the precalciner and the formation mechanism of fuel-type NOx, this paper applied CFD software to numerically simulate the amount of coal used in two burners. The effect of different coal powder injection proportion on the formation and distribution of NOx in NST precalciner was analyzed. The simulation results provided theoretical basis for the operation mode and transformation direction of this type of precalciner to reduce NOx.
