Abstract There are various pre-treatment methods for detecting chloride ions in the co-processing of alternative fuels in cement kilns. This paper mainly studies three detection methods: muffle furnace incineration method, Ashka mixture dissolution method and oxygen bomb combustion method, and conducts a comparative analysis of their advantages and disadvantages. The results showed that when using the oxygen bomb combustion method and the Ashka mixed reagent dissolution method to process samples of different types of alternative fuels, the test results were all within the reasonable error range and met the test requirements. Among them, the oxygen bomb combustion method is more convenient to operate. While measuring the calorific value, the residual detection liquid after combustion can be effectively used for analysis, and the samples are not restricted during processing. The Ashka mixed reagent dissolution method has high detection accuracy and precision, and can ensure that the relative deviation of the test results is within 5%, but the operation process is cumbersome and has extremely high requirements for the test personnel and the test process.
