Abstract: The precalciner is a core process equipment in cement production. Due to the decline in the quality of raw materials and fuel caused by resource constraints, the operating conditions of the precalciner have become increasingly complex and variable, leading to frequent fluctuations in temperature, which adversely affects the quality of clinker. This paper analyzes the factors influencing the temperature of the precalciner during the production process, establishes a model for categorizing the operating conditions of the precalciner, and proposes a generalized predictive control approach for multi-condition operation of the precalciner. The effectiveness of this approach is verified through simulation experiments. The simulation results indicate that under different operating conditions, the introduction of a lagswitching control strategy allows the precalciner to quickly and stably follow its set point while reducing temperature fluctuations
