Abstract In this paper, HPEG 2400 and TPEG3000 were used as polyether macromonomers, AMPS and polyethylene glycol diacrylate were used as functional monomers, and a slump preserving and viscosity reducing polycarboxylic acid water-reducing agent (B-PCE) was synthesized by free radical polymerization of aqueous solution. The concrete test results show that B-PCE has good dispersibility and viscosity reduction effect in concrete, and its compressive strength is improved. With the increase of molar ratio of AMPS, the dispersibility of water reducing agent can be effectively improved and the viscosity of slurry can be reduced. The GPC test results show that the molecular mass distribution width of B-PCE is wider (PDI=4.18) after adding polyethylene glycol diacrylate, and the branched cross-linking effect of polyethylene glycol diacrylate in PCE molecules forms a stereo conformation, which is the main reason for the stronger adsorption and anchorage force of polycarboxylic acid water reducer and the improvement of water reduction rate and slump retention performance.
