Abstract V-type separator has complex structure, strong turbulence and turbulent flow in the internal flow field, and the sorting process is more complicated. In order to further study its internal flow field and sorting process, the structures of the existing V-type separator and the optimized V-type separator were compared and analyzed. Using the Fluent module of ANSYS Fluent software, the RSM model was used to analyze the velocity distribution, pressure distribution, streamline distribution, particle movement trajectory, the velocity and pressure distribution of the classifier plate, the inlet and outlet pressure difference and the sorting efficiency of the two structures. At the same time, the partially installed porous air homogenizer was studied, and the importance of feed uniformity of the V-type separator was also proposed, and the solution was given. The analysis results show that with the increase of inlet air volume, the separation efficiency becomes higher, and the equipment resistance is also increased. For particle size, the smaller the particle, the higher the separation efficiency. However, for fine particles, the increase in separation efficiency is not obvious as the increase of air volume. Through the structural analysis before and after renovation, the ideas for improving the existing V-type powder separator are provided.
