Abstract n order to study the motion characteristics of alternative fuels such as domestic waste in the bucket elevator and explore whether the design of the conventional bucket elevator is suitable for the transportation of domestic waste, this paper takes the bucket elevator as an example, and uses the DEM discrete element analysis software to simulate the movement trajectory of domestic waste, and analyzes its movement trajectory, so as to put forward a theoretical basis for optimizing the structure of the bucket elevator suitable for domestic waste. The results show that when the elevator is in the stable feeding stage, the weight of the recycled material is basically linearly related to the time, which increases with the increase of the speed of the head wheel, and the filling rate of the hopper decreases with the increase of the speed. Appropriately reducing the speed of the head wheel can get a smaller discharge point, which is more conducive to hopper discharge and reduces returned material.
