Abstract By means of XRD, TG/DTG, the performance of calcium sulphoaluminate cement prepared from two kinds of clinker with different fineness were studied. Using Rietveld method to analyze hydration products, the relationship between the expansion performance and particle size and hydration products of cement were discussed. The results showed that reducing the average particle size distribution of clinker contributes greatly to the development of compressive strength, it could also promote the hydration of cement. However, it could not significantly increase the expansion ratio and expansion duration of specimens. Besides, the effect of dihydrate gypsum content on the expansion performance of calcium sulphoaluminate cement was greater than that of particle size of clinker.
