Abstract By analyzing the structural characteristics of the variable flow field electrostatic precipitator technology and conventional electrostatic precipitator technology, the force of charged dust in the electric field, the effective dust collection area, and the wind speed of electric field were analyzed, and a cold physical test pilot platform was built to conduct dust removal performance tests on variable flow field electrostatic precipitator technology and conventional electrostatic precipitator technology. The results showed that under the conditions of increasing the total dust collection area, changing the gas flow direction, and reducing the electric field wind speed of the electric field, the dust removal performance of the variable flow field electric field structure has not been breakthrough, and the dust removal efficiency has slightly decreased. The possible reasons for the insufficient dust removal efficiency of variable flow field grid plates were analyzed from the perspective of structural characteristics and current density. At the same time, improvement measures were proposed to improve the operational efficiency of variable flow field electrostatic precipitators, thereby providing a reference for the optimization and design of electric field structures in electrostatic precipitators.
