Abstract The reduction mechanism and efficiency of various reducing agents for conventional water-soluble cement hexavalent chromium were studied. By appropriate combination of reducing agents, carriers and surfactants, while ensuring the reduction effect, suitable surfactants are used to fully disperse the reducing agent in cement. Appropriate carriers are also used in composite reducing agents to improve their storage stability, thus developing an efficient, stable, harmless, and economical composite reducing agent.
