Abstract:In response to the need for enhancing the performance of synchronous mortar in shield tunnels, an innovative cementitious system has been developed. This system primarily utilizes cement, slag powder, and desulfurized gypsum containing bentonite impurities as the main cementitious components, combined with ultra-fine slag powder, iron-aluminate cement clinker, and water glass as accelerating and early-strength agents. This cementitious system significantly improves the physical and mechanical properties of synchronous mortar in shield tunnel. Compared to the traditional system, its 1-day compressive strength increases by 136%, and its 28-day strength increases by 109%. It can completely replace conventional synchronous grouting materials. Its rapid setting and early-strength characteristics effectively ensure the precision of shield tunnel alignment control, reducing the uplift of the shield tunnel by 47.7% and the segment damage rate by 66.7%. This grouting material facilitates the efficient resource utilization of desulfurized gypsum obtained through acid washing and purification of bentonite, reducing the overall cost of mortar by 25.5%.
